Few weeks back, I placed a beautiful Areca palm plant at the most visible corner of my home; where I thought it would be aesthetically pleasing. It was amazing to see this lovely plant part of my home. After 3 days I noticed a leaf going pale and the plant appeared dull. I had no clue what went wrong. Did I water it too much or too little? Is it the sunlight? Also browsed internet to look for a possible solution, while for some reason unknown i just moved that plant close to other plants. I removed the yellow leaf and continued watering the plant. In less than a week, the plant was bright and fresh, in fact appeared smiling in company of other stunning plants.
This episode is such a positive re-enforcement of fundamental need to belong. Something we all need! And then I reflected upon human life which is so much about nurturing each other. How our smiles, every achievement, all experiences is something that we owe to someone in our life. Family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues and so many other people whom we meet teach us so much, some we love beyond measure and few loves us back too; that makes us feel ‘whole’.
Person we are today is sum total of people and experiences that touch or have touched our lives. Having people around to count on and who can also count back on us, has multiplier effect on happiness and is worth all the time and energy.
It is amazing to realize how each person in our life represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.
Let’s be with our people, let’s create space for beautiful people in our lives, it will take us on a brighter journey.
